Candida, is a yeast that naturally occurs in our system. We all have it, however it is kept in check by balanced amounts of good bacteria that helps keep our immune system strong.
Candida overgrowth is a common problem and is when the Candida Albicans yeast, begin to overgrow on the mucosal membranes of the body. What happens is that there is more of the yeast than the good symbiotic bacteria that make our immune system strong and our bodies healthy. So we therefore, depending on who we are, have a variety of symptoms telling our bodies that something is out of balance. One of the biggest concerns is yeast that goes unchecked in the body causes fermentation of all dietary sugars, so your body basically becomes a nauseating alcohol producing factory. This creates a huge metabolic load on the body and overwhelms the detoxification system of the body. The major symptoms is that people feel like they are hung over all the time. Could this be you?

What are some of the Symptoms of Candida/Yeast Overgrowth- Many people will have a few of these symptoms:
A candida yeast issue is seen as the great mimicker of many health problems, but through interview, physical exam, functional and laboratory testing it can be determined if this is your problem.
What do we need to do to treat. First of all identify the offenders that are weakening the immune system and creating an opportunistic environment for the yeast to grow, usually determining if there are food allergies, heavy metals, weak stomach acid etc… Next is always the removal of these offenders and following our Candida Clear Dietetics Plan- that is a lean protein, plenty of green, healthy fats, low carbohydrate and low sugar diet. We simultaneously work on strengthening the immune system, cleansing the body of the yeast and improving the health of the mucosal membranes.
We use all of our Sanas health Practice tools to address these concerns, certain patients will follow the “Clear it, Heal it” protocol and others will do it in a different way. Each patient is individual because each patient has their own unique set of needs.
